- Collaboration with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank:
- The Egyptian Knowledge Bank offers a language proofreading service for various specialties. To benefit from this service, please follow the provided instructions.
- Regulations for Excuses and Enrollment Suspension:
- Specific guidelines regarding different excuses and suspension of enrollment for postgraduate students.
- Mandatory Courses:
- Scientific Writing Course: Postgraduate students must complete a scientific writing course as a requirement for transitioning from enrollment to registration.
- International Publication Course: Postgraduate students must complete an international publication course as a requirement for forming the thesis examination committee. This decision applies to students enrolled in postgraduate studies after the University Council's decision on 26-10-2020. Applications for these courses can be submitted on the Training Center's website at Ain Shams University.
- Digital Transformation Course:
- Postgraduate students must complete a digital transformation course as a requirement for forming the thesis examination committee. This decision applies to students enrolled in postgraduate studies after the University Council's decision on 22-02-2021. Requirements for Students Enrolled After 26/12/2017

Master's Degree
- Publish a research paper or provide proof of acceptance for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal or a specialized international scientific conference.

Doctoral Degree
- Publish at least one research paper and provide proof of acceptance for another paper in a specialized international peer-reviewed scientific journal or conference.
- One of the published papers must be an international research paper in a journal indexed in the Scopus or Web of Science database.
Requirements for Students Enrolled After 27/6/2022

Master's Degree
- Publish an international research paper in a journal indexed in the Scopus or Web of Science databases, with a ranking of Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4.

Doctoral Degree
- Publish at least one research paper and provide proof of acceptance for another paper in a specialized international peer-reviewed scientific journal or conference.
- One of the published papers must be an international research paper in a journal indexed in the Scopus or Web of Science databases, with a ranking of Q1 or Q2.
Use of Artificial Intelligence Instructions
Guidelines for Using Artificial Intelligence
In recognition of the College of Engineering's commitment to staying up-to-date on new developments and modern tools that may impact the educational process, the following are instructions and guidelines for using artificial intelligence applications:
- Instructor Approval:
Refrain from if the course instructor/lecturer permits using AI applications for solving exercises, writing reports, etc. Before using these applications, you must consult with the course instructor/lecturer to confirm if you can do so and understand the permissible boundaries.
- Content Evaluation and Privacy:
If you are allowed to use AI applications, carefully evaluate and critique the content. Outputs from these applications may contain inaccurate or biased information, making them unreliable. Additionally, using AI applications may violate your own privacy (e.g., collecting and sharing your data with third parties). Therefore, exercise caution when using any of these applications. Remember to use trustworthy and secure sources instead.
- Proper Citation:
If you are permitted to use content generated by AI applications, indicate where AI was used and cite the information in the text and the reference list. You may use the following format.
- Declaration of Using Generative AI Technologies:
preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and took full responsibility for the publication's content.
- Authorship and Ethical Responsibility:
AI is not considered an author; therefore, any text generated by AI should be attributed to the original authors, with the student bearing full ethical responsibility.
Remember, you hold full ethical responsibility for the originality and accuracy of your work. Violating these guidelines may subject you to accountability by the faculty administration.
Events
The Conference Committee of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University organized the first seminar of the academic year on Saturday, October 16, titled "Academic Research Criteria for Evaluating Candidates for State Awards." The seminar was delivered by Prof. Amr Shaat, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.
The Conference Committee of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University organized the second seminar of the academic year on Monday, December 20, titled "Towards a Strategic Policy Change: From Slum Development to Urban Development." Eng. Khaled Seddik, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund, delivered the seminar.
