General Rules for Credit Hour Awards
- The student must submit a request to attend the competition to the office of the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs well in advance, to allow time for reviewing the request and informing the student whether the competition is included in the credit hour awards list. If included, the student will be informed about the prize value if they place among the top three.
- In one academic year, a student may not combine more than one award.
- The award does not include the student's selection for a department or graduation project, as this is determined by the student's GPA like other students in the college.
- The award is valid throughout the academic year and can be divided across the semesters of that year.
- International competition prizes require a minimum of 5 countries from two different continents.
- For team competitions, the maximum number of team members is 20 students, or the equivalent of 20 student prizes in case the number exceeds 20 (this should be stated in a letter from the faculty member in charge of the competition).
- Credit hour awards can only be used for registering courses.
- The committee will consider any new matters (new competitions or any emerging issues not listed).
