As part of the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University’s commitment to preparing highly qualified engineers capable of competing at both local and international levels, Prof. Tarek Hassan, Professor of Concrete Structures, recipient of the Ain Shams University Appreciation Award 2025, and Head of the Concrete Structures Department at Dar Al-Handasah, one of the world’s leading engineering firms, discusses the factors that make Ain Shams Engineering graduates a preferred choice for major global engineering institutions.
Prof. Hassan highlights distinguished examples of the Faculty’s graduates contributing to teams responsible for the design and execution of some of the world’s largest projects, including the Iconic Tower in Egypt, the largest airport currently under construction worldwide, and the design of the tallest tower in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He also emphasizes the importance of developing students’ academic and practical skills throughout their years of study and provides practical insights into the best ways to prepare early for the labor market, enabling future engineers to lead major projects and keep pace with the rapidly evolving engineering sector.
These outstanding achievements reflect the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University’s leading role in graduating engineers who are well-equipped to compete globally and contribute to the implementation of mega projects both in Egypt and abroad.
