EVOLUTION Student Society
EVOLUTION network for student wellbeing is working with students regarding recruiting system for those who are interested in serving in such area and due to specific announced criteria. The student society will work within a recommended structure that includes executive committee and other standing committees.
A student who are interested to apply, should be attested by the college to have a sense of conduct and behavior, and not be subject to any penalties or disciplinary procedures.
Student Society Recommended Structure
1.1. Executive Committee
Executive committee includes 5 main members and representatives of other standing committees as will be described in the following sections.
President
The president is the chief Executive Committee Officer and shall have the following duties:
- Attend regular meetings with EVOLUTION steering committee.
- Uphold and enforce the network and policies and procedures.
- Schedule meetings and prepare agendas of EVOLUTION student society.
- Report to EVOLTUION steering committee.
- Recommend members to serve occasionally in the network events and activities.
Past President
When EVOLUTION society president has completed his or her term of office, he or she remains on the executive committee for a year as the immediate past president. The past president has the following duties:
- Uphold and enforce the network and policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for external relations, such as sponsoring special conferences and workshops.
- Be responsible for planning and controlling fund raising activities.
Vice-President
The vice-president of EVOLUTION student society shall have the following duties:
- Uphold and enforce the network and policies and procedures.
- Act for the president during absence or disability.
- Be responsible for monthly meetings and other internal administrative needs that may arise.
- Be responsible for planning and organizing special conferences and workshops with coordination with the past president.
- Perform such any duties that are delegated by the president or the executive committee.
Secretary
The Secretary has the following duties:
- Keep a record of the proceedings of the network and the executive committee meetings.
- Keep an accurate historical record of all activities and significant events, including news releases and accomplishments of the network and its members.
- Provide a copy of all records to the network steering committee.
- Perform such duties as are delegated by the president or the executive committee.
Treasurer
- The Treasurer of the student community has the following duties:
- Ensure that all funds raised by the network are forwarded to the faculty.
- Ensure that all the funds are properly managed and disbursed in the best interest.
- Ensure that the network files timely reports of receipts and expenditures.
- Advise the executive committee regarding the finances of the network.
- Report on the financial condition of the network at all meetings of the executive committee and at other times when called upon by the president.
- Oversee the preparation of an annual budget and any other special project budgets for the network.
- Perform such duties as are delegated by the president or the executive committee.
1.2. Standing committees
Standing committees are established under the supervision of EVOLUTION steering committee with cooperation with recruited students. These committees are significant to assist in the running of the student society. These committees may consist of the following:
Public Relations, Media and Marketing Committee
This committee is responsible for increasing public relations and partners. Also, it tackles all marketing and media issues.
Events and Activities Committee
This committee is responsible for: planning for events coordinating with other groups to avoid repetition and making sure that meeting/events times do not conflict; arranging for events’ facilities; and assisting the Treasurer with all billing and invoicing functions for the event.
Building Capacity Committee
This committee is responsible for helping members learn about new topics and enhance skills with coordination with Events and Activities Committee to hold special seminars and workshops to educate members.
Librarian
The librarian is responsible for all events and activities documentation (with coordination with the previous three committees.
Fund-Raising Committee
The fund-raising committee is responsible to prepare the fund-raising plan and categorized it according to the funding and the benefits. It also responsible to contact every possible interested firm to fund the network.
Also, events and activities committee assist in recruiting faculty students who can participate in a specific event (they are not members in EVOLUTION student society but can have a certificate of involvement by the end of the event).
